Both principals meet the professional qualification standards for Architectural Historians as outlined in the Secretary of Interior’s Standards, and are six-year residents of New Mexico, familiar with the building styles and historic context of the Southwest. Both principals have worked with the National Park Service in previous capacities, and maintain strong professional relationships with staff at the Historic American Buildings Survey, the Historic American Engineering Record, the National Register of Historic Places, as well as the entire Heritage Preservation Services Division. In addition, Common Bond Preservation has a professional association with the New Mexico Historic Preservation Division, whose staff can be consulted as needed for additional knowledge and guidance.
Both principals attend state and national conferences pertaining to historic preservation and other cultural resource issues to remain up to date on the current issues of the field. CBP is a member of the Society of Architectural Historians, the Vernacular Architecture Forum, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Cultural Resources Network.
